Release, release, release ladies and gentlemen.
Faber has new stuff out: very nice.
Jake Bugg's new song Zombieland is semi. Not particularly exciting.
Billi Eilish's Hit me Hard and Soft 100 times better than Taylor's, also fits well as a book accompaniment.
What doesn't fit is the self-created chartsgedöns- playlist, which, however, and that's why it exists, puts you in a good mood. Ironically, of course, because who would seriously want to listen to One Direction and think up the right choreography in their head?
Movie
The carnival is back, we see colors, crowded underground stations, people, people, and people.
Book
So, a little love letter to Gordon Raphael.
Dear Gordon, it was an honor and will forever remain in my memory to spend time with you at Eastvillage in that small, non-van-like studio. I loved even more how that and the general trip to New York now connects me to your biography and your passion for music. It was great fun listening to the great rock n roll classics while following your story, as well as adding small indie undergrounds to the list. Yes, the story with the Strokes is very familiar but still cool to read! I think I was a tiny bit more of a fan of Regina, but that speaks to my character. I like the honesty and the sense of how you don't take yourself too seriously in your writing but have perhaps taken yourself too seriously throughout your life - here and there. Very impressive, all this back and forth, New York, Seattle, London, and Berlin. Thanks for the good times at airports and the BVG and on my balcony and the one evening with the rose and the sunset. And congratulations on the Absinthinee release on Spotify. Best, E

Meeting human individuals and their mental state can lead to great experiences - but can also, and not necessarily intentionally, be quite exhausting.

Music
Sentimentality lends me to the indie mix, the Strokes (yes, bye Gordon) the Smith and Co.
Until the afternoon, when drums and fans and techno and everything else can be heard from everywhere, because: it's still carnival.
Movie
Californication would have helped a lot.
Book
Yep, intellectuality comes in waves. If Gordon was riding the crest, we're now at the more or less undemanding bottom, FINALLY reading Sally Rooney's new book.
Other Inspirations
Ah, it was another one of those days when almost everything was just kind of perfect.

More indie rock from various artists.

Book
Oh Sally, how nice that your way of writing makes several women at once talk about it in the sun over coffee and croissants.
Other Inspirations
Puzzle man! Also rather something for the colder days, but as a pastime when you're waiting for people?

Music
And as so often, a morning with Oli and Jan begins with melodic indie sounds from bands from the 80s to the 2000s. Unfortunately no live Blackwave. in the late evening. The two then came out of the loudspeakers. Also okay. And hey, I'm not the only one who can listen to Pöbel MC ironically from time to time.
Movie
Time for the first open-air cinema visits. But yes, season 6 of Shameless has started with this.
Book
We like Sally's new book but still draw comparisons with the previous characters. Isn't Alice a bit like Frances?
Other Inspirations
I missed the Blackwave. Concert at the Lido. Oh boy. Instead, we went to play table tennis in the neighbourhood.

Hello Weezer, welcome back. Hello, Its me, haven't seen you in a While - of course there's also Songs for Drella, what else?
And the Milli Vanilli Podcast. A brief exchange of ideas: So, Milli Vanilli had been discovered as German brothers, which they never were, by a producer from Frankfurt, who said "Yes, dancing works, singing doesn't". So the producer sells this song, which wasn't sung by the boys, but by someone else / some sound machine AND THAT'S THE BIG SCANDAL? WHO CARES? ChatGbt probably writes Taylor's lyrics - scandalous (good word.) Reading about phone sex kinda gives you housewife vibes, to me anyway. But yeah, having Sally back is nice. 8 out of 10 stars.
Movie
Man! It's about time, we're not getting anywhere. Big on the list: Trainspotting II.

Andy Andy Andy. There's been a great exhibition at Fotografiska in Mitte since last Friday. THEY ARE SIMPLY HIS REAL POLAROIDS. He has traveled from New York to join me, so to speak. Super happy. So also that you can walk through the rooms with a drink in your hand while listening to Nico.
I'm off to Scotland in the morning. Second time to Scotland in my life, aye.
