Please, don't hear the people sing anymore.
Music
After a two-day premiere, we've finally done it - Les Miserables has seen the stage and the light of day, in Pankow, and can finally be put to bed. Vive la France and Viva la Revelutcion. Off to new shores and new projects.
Movie
To top it all off, we'll be popping the champagne and watching Anne Hathaway die this week (to say that the movie Les Miserables will be shown again in the living room on the Betty Beamer).
Book
Gordon is my daily BVG companion.
Other Inspirations
Let's honor the friendships I cultivate and thank awesome, awesome, awesome people here in the newsletter! Thank you, man.

Music
And of course, we wake up with the biggest earworm you can have after a premiere. We fight it, of course, and do everything we can to maybe not, but then One day more and Look down and the curse is sealed.
Movie
We saw Morning Glory, which goes well with our wonderful series The Morning Show, is something that is called a romantic comedy in professional circles and is only really watched when you're half-dead. I was three-quarters exhausted, so bear with me.
Book
Gordon is becoming my best friend. It's a very one-sided friendship, much to my regret. We both spend my time in the dark shafts of Berlin's underground and sleep together on his purple couch in the basement of the recording studio in East Village. (No we don't, that would just be too much of a good thing)
Other Inspirations
Sunsets by the water, on rooftops. The colors and good friends. Summer is here, man!

Music
Through my friend Gordon, we are currently exploring the life's work of the Pixies again. We like them. We like them a lot and of course not only Pixies. Here they are the Strokes.
And thanks, Wim (I love Wim) of course Troggs - why Troggs? Well, we got to spend Tuesday evening with them. Rock'n'roll.
Movie
/Event. We were part of the Kulturpreis 2024, to which the BZ invited us. It was a good event, covered every cultural niche and had great award winners, all hosted by the great, great Meret Becker. Touching.
Plus: the champagne was good and you could play both blackjack and roulette. THAT'S SUPER COOL. FUN FUN FUN.
Book
Gordon and I are trying to sell The Strokes album. To Nick Valensi. He doesn't like it. Exciting, exciting, exciting.
Other Inspirations
Learning how to make small talk. Or how to sell yourself. Or both.

Music
We continue to delve into the Pixies' life's work: classics you can always say “The old stuff is already better than the new stuff.”
Movie
We're three episodes into the Shameless marathon, desperate to see Challangers, heard bad reviews about the new Woody Allan movie and are still traumatized by Manhattan.
Book
There are 100 pages left in the “I start as a surfer book but then the rest is a story about organ transplants from a dead teenager. It's so sad. But I'd still like to finish it. Soon. So maybe this weekend - it's really very well written though. Which unfortunately makes it all the sadder.
Other Inspirations
I've found my showreel. Work is starting again: Lets go, acting page.

Alright, the very last Musical Thursday
Music
Oh, how wonderful, the sun is shining, The Animals are singing and I'm sitting on the balcony with Gordon. For what feels like a Sunday walk, various “good mood” playlist artists are singing, back at home it's The Animals Radio and in the evening Various Artists from Les Miserables are singing what I've been singing for the last 4 months.
Movie
Les Miserables is a good movie right after everyone is in Paris.
Book
Gordon and I get on well together like this. He's now in Europe after 7 weeks of recording, producing, and worrying about The STrokes, which can absolutely go wrong. I wish him well.
Other Inspirations
The Wise Guys have this song: Now it's summer. Let's do it. Oh, and furthermore:
Life is good!
